Short Biography
Zeila Zanolli focuses on the first principles simulation of quantum materials, covering electronic, magnetic, transport and many-body exciton physics. She demonstrated that magnetism and topological features can be controlled by proximity interaction at interfaces. Her team develops and uses real-time dynamics of many-body excitations to predict spin decoherence mechanisms. She was a recipient of a Ramon y Cajal (2017) and Marie Curie IEF (2012) fellowships. She was elected fellow (2017) and board member (treasurer 2018) of the Young Academy of Europe, and steering committee member of the European Theoretical Spectroscopy Facility (2018).
